By car

If you're coming from Riga, you'll arrive to the A12 road, which cuts straight through the city of Šiauliai as Tilžės street. You'll pass the Hill of Crosses (Kryžių kalnas) on your left about 12 km before you arrive in town, in case you want to stop for a short observation. From Vilnius, take the A2 road (follow the signs to Panevėžys), and then turn at the A9 and follow the signs to Šiauliai. Due to a lack of signs after the turn-off, you might find yourself heading into the city of Panevėžys - have in mind that this is a mistake, and you must change your route at the earliest opportunity with a U-turn.
